Iazzo dei Sensi
A garden dedicated to relaxation is born among the fragments of oak forest of the farm. A large area – located between the main building and the rooms – is entirely intended for relaxation. Here, among aromatic and medicinal plants, there are lounge chairs and seats to spend time in contact with nature, surrounded by calmness and diving thoroughly into all your senses.
The route was created aiming to involve all the senses.
Smell : the first of the senses to be stimulated, even before accessing this ‘hortus conclusus’, our ‘Iazzo of the senses’! Let yourself be guided by the ‘deafening’ smell of rosemary, …..of the original plants of the Apulian Murgia, some of which have been reintroduced after decades of absence!
Hearing : the rustling of leaves, the wings of butterflies, the water of fountains, and the singing of plants that you can listen to thanks to devices that intercept, through electrodes, the vibrations of plants, transforming them into sound: the sound of Nature !
Touch : stimulates blood circulation thanks to the alternating hot/cold showers. Naturopath Sebastian Kneipp perfectly understood the effects of thermal stimuli on the body and health. If the skin temperature is usually around 33.5°C, variations from this value determine different effects and sensations:
- cold water (from 10° to 21°C) has a stimulating effect and improves vasoconstriction;
- hot water (around 40°) has positive effects on arthritis and muscle contractures.
At the same time you will have the opportunity to walk on a path of stones which helps venous circulation starting from the sole of the foot.
Taste : promote relaxation thanks to our flavored waters based on fresh fruit and vegetables, aromatic herbs and spices, available to all guests. They help quench your thirst and hydrate you during exposure to the sun, while providing vitamins, mineral salts and helping to eliminate toxins.
Obviously, a wide selection of drinks, fruit and everything you need to satisfy that peckish feeling that inevitably makes itself felt throughout the day is available in the facility.
Sight : it is the sense that we use most of all, every day, without even noticing it anymore. Yet the feeling of wonder and amazement at the sight will not abandon you for the entire stay at Masseria Iazzo!
